Design & Material Process

This fabric is woven from a 30 momme white silk base using a jacquard rib structure, forming a refined plum blossom motif with gentle relief and depth.

Unlike traditional gambiered silk, this textile undergoes repeated botanical dyeing without river mud application. Through cycles of plant-based dye immersion and prolonged sun exposure, the surface gradually develops a deep wine-red tone with a subtle, luminous sheen.

The higher momme weight gives the fabric a sense of structure and presence, balancing softness with a composed firmness suitable for sculptural silhouettes.

Texture & Performance

With its heavier weight and ribbed jacquard structure, the fabric feels substantial and slightly crisp while retaining the natural smoothness of silk.

The plum blossom pattern interacts with light gently, appearing understated indoors and revealing depth and lustre under sunlight or stage lighting. Breathability remains moderate, making it well-suited for formal garments and layered designs.

Natural botanical dyes also help reduce odor accumulation during long-term wear.

Natural Characteristics

As a textile dyed exclusively with plant-based materials and without chemical fixatives, slight color release may occur during the first few rinses.

Variations in tone, sheen, and texture are inherent to the repeated hand-dyeing and sun-curing process. These characteristics reflect the material’s natural and handcrafted origin and should not be considered defects.
