Design & Material Process
Crafted on a 23 momme white Lo silk base, this fabric is defined by its lightness and breathable structure. The traditional Lo weave introduces subtle openwork detailing, allowing air and light to pass through the surface while forming delicate floral jacquard patterns.
The textile is dyed through repeated botanical dyeing and river mud application, combined with cycles of sun-drying. Over time, this process develops a naturally lustrous black-facing surface, while the reverse gradually emerges in a warm brown tone.
Balancing openness and structure, the fabric retains the fluidity of silk while offering a gentle sense of resilience unique to Lo-patterned Xiangyun silk.
Texture & Performance
Lightweight and breathable, this fabric offers a refined balance between openness and durability. The Lo weave enhances airflow while maintaining structural integrity, making the textile comfortable for extended wear.
Botanical dyes derived from Dioscorea roots also contribute to the fabric’s natural resistance to odor buildup over time.
Natural Characteristics
As a fully plant- and mud-dyed textile with no chemical fixatives, slight color release may occur during the first few washes.
The black-facing surface is finished through river mud application; subtle shadowing may occasionally appear on the brown reverse. These characteristics are inherent to the traditional process and should not be considered defects.
Each piece carries slight variations in tone and texture, reflecting its handcrafted nature.
