Design & Material Process
Crafted on a 26 momme white jacquard satin silk base, this fabric features a delicate daisy motif woven directly into the structure. The satin weave provides a smooth surface and subtle weight, allowing the fabric to drape gracefully while maintaining a refined presence.
Through repeated cycles of botanical dyeing, river mud application, and sun-drying, the textile gradually develops its distinctive visual depth. The black-facing surface appears understated and calm, while the daisy jacquard pattern subtly emerges under sunlight or artificial light, creating a quiet yet sophisticated texture. The reverse side reveals a warm brown tone formed naturally through the dyeing process.
Texture & Performance
With the added weight of 26 momme satin silk, this fabric feels smooth and softly structured, offering excellent drape and a sense of stability. The jacquard daisy pattern remains understated rather than decorative, appearing and receding with changes in light, lending the fabric a refined elegance without visual excess.
Botanical dyes derived from natural plant materials also contribute to reducing odor buildup over long-term wear.
Natural Characteristics
As a textile dyed entirely with botanical materials and river mud, without chemical fixatives, slight color release may occur during the first few washes.
Because the black surface is achieved through manual river mud application, subtle tonal variations, shadowing, or color migration may appear on the brown reverse. These features are inherent to the traditional process and should not be considered defects.
Each piece carries natural variations in tone, sheen, and texture, reflecting its handcrafted origin.
